Teaching

I am teaching classes now!

Current Classes:

Beginning Spinning with Grace Verhagen
Tuesdays, August 6, 13, 20, and 27, 2013
In this 4-session class, students will receive an introduction to the skills required to spin your own yarn for knitting or weaving. Students will learn the basics of how to use a spinning wheel, develop familiarity with different types of fibre, learn to create the type of yarn they desire, and how to play with colour.
  • Classes take place from 6 to 8 pm on four consecutive Tuesday nights (August 6, 13, 20, and 27)
  • Class fee of $98 includes materials
  • Spinning wheels will be available to borrow (deposit required)
  • Optional materials list for students: pencil, paper, camera. If you have a spinning wheel, please bring it. Also, if you have a lazy kate, 3-4 empty bobbins, and a niddy noddy.
Classes are held at the SweetGeorgia Yarns Studio at 110-408 East Kent Avenue South near Main Street and Marine Drive in Vancouver. Access to transit is very limited. Plenty of free parking is available.
